CURRICULA

Among the preparations for the current academic year (the 28th., 1429 from the Birth of the Prophet (SAW) 98, 1999 C.E) textbooks as well as other educational material were provided and the academic year began on schedule.

FIC provides suitable educational and psychological atmosphere for its students and encourages them to take part in the cultural, sporting and recreational activities provided for them. This adds to their complete educational and leisure needs.

As a result FIC students have taken part in a number of sporting and cultural activities as well as in contests for the memorization and recitation of the Holy Qur’an even at the University level. A summer programme for providing temporary employment to students according to their professional abilities was also put instituted.

Great importance is placed on the scientific methodology in the development of FIC's programmes and curricula. The ultimate result is the production of highly qualified Muslim graduates with leadership skills. It also makes FIC’s graduates accredited and recognised throughout the world, a goal, which the Faculty, its administrative and scientific committees, and the World Islamic Call Society are continuously working to achieve. Its library contains the latest scientific publications and specialized periodicals. The faculty also organises scientific symposia and intellectual discussions.

Among its goals is to produce self-reliant professional daiya who can earn a living from his knowledge. FIC, therefore, implemented a programme of vocational professional training, four years ago to teach students the following skills:

1) Carpentry

2) Automobile electricity

3) General electricity

4) Mechanics

5) Electronics

6) Car Driving

7) Typing

8) Agriculture and Apiculture

Experts in the above specialities train students in the various skills. The faculty has also provided students with the most modern instruments and equipment required for training. This practice, it is believed, will have positive results since students gain experience that will be beneficial in their success as daiya.

FIC has provided scholarships to students to study in science faculties such as medicine, engineering and economics in coordination with Libyan Universities. This is in accordance with the desire to diversify student specialities and respond to the needs of Muslim societies.

COOPERATIVE LINKS

The faculty has also continued its distinguished links with several universities and scientific institutions in both Arab and Muslim Countries. Such links include the temporary placements of a number of its teaching staff from various disciplines to the universities of Sai in Niger, Al-Houdaida in Yemen and Bayero in Nigeria. The Faculty continues to publish books in Arabic and several agreements were signed in this respect.

The first and second cultural links symposia were also held in Tripoli and Tetouan in Morocco respectively.

N’DJEMENA, CHAD BRANCH

As a consequence of the visits to Africa by Colonel Muammar Al-Gadhafi, Leader of the World Islamic People's Leadership (WIPL), and implementation of the programmes and recommendations of the World Islamic Call Council, a branch of the faculty was opened in N'djamena, Republic of Chad. The Chadian branch was innaugurated in the current academic year 28, (1429 from the Birth of the Prophet (SAW), corresponding to 1998-1999 C.E.) admitting students from a number of African states neighbouring Chad as follows:

Mention must also be made of the inauguration of an institute for Arabic language and Islamic culture in Benin last year.
